Years of field studies and research across North America have examined the common causes of transplant shock and planting methods to eliminate it. What is transplant shock, what are the causes, how and when are we finally going to get it right and move beyond it.

Join Ian Bruce as he teaches from his many years of experience from assessing tree planting specs, planting detail graphics and what actually gets done in the field as “root” for their role as causes of transplant mortality… what works and what doesn’t.

He will use “A Reference Guide For Developing Planting Details” produced by the LOHTA/OALA Liaison Committee and published by Landscape Ontario to emphasize the critical link between causes of transplant shock or mortality and spec, details and planting practices to promote successful establishment into the “growing-on” phase of tree life after transplant shock.
